On May 11, 2021, M5stack together with Microsoft team, kicking off with an inspiring seminar followed by a broad set of hands-on experiences and depth training workshop.
Developing an IoT solution involves circuit design, embedded systems, Wireless& telecommunications, network security, and the data of the server performance. The mix of knowledge and skills requirement can be very critical under Technological Complexity for engineers. As to enterprises, Prolonged Cycle, High risks, and recruiting difficulty are all pain points for entering into IoT Industry.

We’ve seen the number of COVID-19 related projects and contributors grow rapidly. So far these projects have been viewed by many unique users over the past year. In an effort to improve COVID-19 pandemic response,M5Stack collaborating with NYP (Nanyang Polytechnic) is a polytechnic located in Singapore in conjunction with ESPRESSIF on COVID-19 projects that helps people protect themselves.
The judging process for the M5Stack and NYP Project Based Learning Design Challenge takes place online due to the COVID-19 pandemic. M5Stack CEO Jimmy and the Vice General Manager of ESPRESSIF Stanza Wang as the main jury members judge the entries and give some suggestions on how to improve the project. This project aims to combat COVID-19. The team aim to install a station in libraries. Visitors would have to pass through it before proceeding. The station would have the ability to control crowd, sanitize visitors, and display number of current visitors. This device is fully automated, where the number of people in the library would be controlled without the need of human interference. By limiting number of people and sanitizing them, the risk of COVID-19 transmission would drastically reduce.

M5Stack has launched a unique new device in its core series. M5Paper is a touch enabled E-ink display. Far from being a simple E-reader, M5Paper is a fully programmable microcontroller which could be the ideal choice for your IoT applications. This low power device could suit such purposes as a shelf display, industrial controller, smart weather display and so on.
M5Paper is powered by the ESP32-D0WD. Its E-Ink display supports 16-level gray scale, which provides a great reading experience. The display is a GT911 capacitive touch screen, which supports multipoint touch and a variety of gesture controls.
Compared to a regular LCD, E-Ink displays are easier on the eyes, which makes them a great choice for reading or viewing for longer periods. The M5Paper has ultra low power consumption, basically power is only required for refreshing and keeps displaying previous content for a long time even when powered down.

M5Stack CORE2 integrates an ESP32 D0WDQ6-V3 with two Tensilica Xtensa 32-bit LX6 microprocessors that can be individually controlled.
